North Sikkim is categorized as a restricted area for tourists and other visitors. This means that special permits have to be obtained to visit Lachung, Yumthang and Lachen areas and since the tour has to be conducted by a recognized local tour operator approved by Sikkim Tourism, Government of Sikkim, you are advised to click the tour operators icon in the Home page to get a list of tour operators of Sikkim.

There are however accommodations available in various price ranges from simple home stays and fine hotels. Special tented accommodations have also been arranged by the organizers in order to accommodate a large number of visitors that are expected during the time of the festival.
